Why TYTUS?
I've been through many names but I finally just chose TYTUS because my brand is nothing but me. It's who I am as a person and a designer. And it's all done by me and only me, hence the subtitle By.Tytus.
Why did you start fashion?
I started to do fashion because I felt as if I'm already labeled as an African American male. So why not make my own label of clothes that make people stand out in fashionable ways and be known as a young fashion designer, who also happens to be African-American. I don't want my race to be the first thing people observe of me. I want people to know me for what I do and how I do it and why I do it. From my experiences, fashion can change how you feel about yourself. When you look good, you feel good. And if my fashion can help someone feel good or better about themselves then I'm truly doing my job. And because i simply like to look good and make others look good. I always try to style people, so why not start fashion.
HoW can I support?
Well money donations are always greatly appreciated, BUT there are many other ways one can help support to make this brand the star it is destined to be. Promos are the best way. Just sharing my website link, Instagram, and Twitter with your ,associates, friends, family is help enough. Helping me get the word out and just get my brand to a larger audience is plenty. And/or you could simply buy TYTUS products and that too is a form of promotion. For big events, concerts, parties, etc. Again all support is greatly appreciated and support enough.
What Will be my Civic Engagement?
I am doing a civic engagement, a great deal of my EXCLUSIVE products come from thrift stores, particularly Goodwill. So purchasing from Goodwill alone is helping them out, but in the future I do plan on giving back money donations to a charity of my choice. But for now I'm just making sales for profit.
What are your plans for
the future for TBT?
In the future for TYTUS By.Tytus I would like to open up a center geared towards young designers to host various fashion related events. It'll be called The Fashion Colosseum By.Tytus or The TYTUS Fashion Colosseum. Designers can host pop-up shops, model castings, photo shoots, fashion shows, etc. There would be different runway setups and different themed rooms for each thing. I want there to also be a design lounge where people can come in a peaceful and inspirational area to design and sketch. Along with a studio that designers can rent to come work on their garments and collections. There would also be a TYTUS By.Tytus boutique. I want this because as of right now there are seldom opportunities and places for young people to go and design and show the world their talent, especially minority youth. So I would like to be able to create that type of environment so young people, young minorities, young designers can go and achieve what they aspire to be within the fashion industry whether its a model, photographer, stylists, make up artist, model manager, fashion blogger, fashion show coordinator, brand ambassador or a fashion designer.
